Hey guys! August is going to be a hectic month for me! I’m flying to Flint towards the end of the month and I won’t be back in Vegas until mid September. I will also be celebrating my birthday at the end of the month in Michigan with my family, so I’m not sure how much reading I’m going to get done. Then again, my mom does have a library sent from above, so maybe I can spend a few days locked away in there.

Regardless, I know I’m going to spend a bunch of time with my family and my friends in my hometown, so I don’t want to set myself a huge TBR or anything. But these are some of the books I know, without a doubt, that I will be reading this month!

I also really want to participate in ARC August, and I know I have enough ARCS that release this fall to do so! So hopefully besides these six books, I can also knock out a few extra ARCS as well!

➽ Blackwing (Ravens’ Mark #1) by Ed McDonald:
I am looking so forward to this ARC, I am beyond words! This I believe is a grimdark fantasy about a bounty hunter and I cannot wait to get my hands on it! Buddy Reading with Michael from Bitten by a Radioactive Book ❤

➽ Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust:
I was so thankful to be given an ARC of this! F/F fairy-tale retelling? Like, take my money, please! I think the basic premise is that a young girl moves away to a castle with the plan of stealing the king’s heart, but I think she falls in love with someone else instead. This has the potential to be one of my favorite books of 2017, and I have such high hopes for this one. Buddy Reading with Destiny! ❤

➽ The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken:
I know this is a middle-grade book, but I just couldn’t resist requesting an ARC of this after reading the beautiful premise. This is a story about a young boy who discovers a demon living inside him, because a long forgotten family member broke a contract with a demon long ago.

➽ Mask of Shadows (Untitled #1) by Linsey Miller:
I’ll be honest; I really was excited when I saw this one on Netgalley because I’m always looking for diversity in my SFF and this one has a gender fluid main character. Unfortunately, a lot of my friends have disliked this one and most of them actually DNFed it, so I’m super apprehensive to go into this ARC. Hopefully I feel differently, but we will see.

➽ The Obelisk Gate (The Broken Earth #2) by N.K. Jemisin:
I fell completely head over heels with The Fifth Season in July and I cannot wait to explore more of this inhabitable world filled with some of my favorite characters of all time. Buddy Reading with Petrik & Gelisvb ❤.

➽ The Stone Sky (The Broken Earth, #3) by N.K. Jemisin:
And then I plan to read the conclusion to this beautiful trilogy upon release on August 15th, 2017. Buddy Reading with Mary and maybe some others! ❤

I can’t believe how fast this year is going, but I hope you all have an amazing month filled with love and good books! Also, I might not read my usual eight to ten books in August, but I for sure will be buying more books than usual because of my birthday.
