October 2017 TBR

Itโ€™s finally October! ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ๐ŸŽƒ I hope you all had an amazing September, and I wish you all the happiness, love, and good books this October! October should be a more relaxing month than August and September were for me, but Iโ€™m still going on a little mini trip somewhere extra special in the middle of the month! I canโ€™t wait to share that trip with you guys! But here are all the things I plan on reading this spooky season!

โžฝ The Hearts We Sold by Emily Lloyd-Jones:
This was in the August 2017 OwlCrate box, and just feels like it is going to be a perfect Halloween read! This is about a girl who sells her heart to a demon, and Iโ€™m going to be buddy reading this with Destiny & Elise! โค

โžฝ A Discovery Of Witches (All Souls, #1) by Deborah Harkness:
Okay, this book is incredibly polarizing, so Iโ€™m very excited to see where I fall with my feelings! This book is supposed to be filled with witches and vampires and all things paranormal. Oh, and itโ€™s also very talked about because apparently it has a lot of sexy time scenes, but we will see! Also, this is a buddy read with the lovely Paloma! โค

โžฝ Nevernight (The Nevernight Chronicle, #1) by Jay Kristoff:
Iโ€™ve wanted to read this for a long, long time, but I always have so many ARCs, and then so many new releases, and I just can never fit it in! But I am making sure I am finally able to give this book a try in October, because I am so desperate to finally meet Mia! And Iโ€™m buddy reading this with Katherine & Paloma! โค

โžฝ Godsgrave (The Nevernight Chronicle #2) by Jay Kristoff:
And then, because Iโ€™m totally assuming Iโ€™m going to love Nevernight, I plan to just binge the second book, too! Like, I have the highest of hopes for these two books, and I hope and pray that Iโ€™m not disappointed.

โžฝ Words of Radiance (The Stormlight Archive #2) by Brandon Sanderson:
After I read The Way of Kings, wild horses couldnโ€™t keep me away from this book! Iโ€™m buddy reading this on Goodreads with Robin and the rest of BB&B, and one of my best friends in real life! โค

โžฝ Without Merit by Colleen Hoover:
There is no way Iโ€™m going to be able to resist reading a brand-new Colleen Hoover book. Iโ€™m not even going to try to fool myself, because I know I will have no self-restraint. And this is about a creepy family that lives in a repurposed church. I mean, that sort of screams Halloween to me!

โžฝ Body of The Crime (Blackest Gold #2) by R. Scarlett:
I read the first book in this series this summer, and even though I wasnโ€™t that in love with it, this author is such a freaking sweetheart and her kindness just makes me want to give her series another try! Plus, this series is a hate to love romance between a demon and girl and I think will be a perfect Halloween read!

โžฝ 27 Hours (The Nightside Saga #1) by Tristina Wright:
This will be the first book I read in October! This is a YA Sci-Fi novel that stars a very diverse cast of characters. Iโ€™m actually super excited to read this, and I hope itโ€™s everything Iโ€™m hoping it is! Iโ€™m on the blog tour for this, and Iโ€™m also reading this with Jules! โค

And besides all of these (hopefully) amazing books, I also think Iโ€™m going to participate in Spookathon 2017! Which is being hosted by Lala, Paige, and Shannon! This readathon will take place from October 16 โ€“ 22, and I will totally do a separate TBR for it, too. ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ’›

I hope to get to a few more ARCs as well this month, but these are a few of the things Iโ€™m really focusing on! I hope you all have an amazing October that is filled with all wonderful books! And I hope you all also have an amazing (and safe) Halloween! Happy reading, lovelies!

  1. Nevernight and Godsgrave aren’t that small in length but I like how them both together pale in comparison to the size of the Sanderson tome! And those other books look like babies compared to Sanders!๐Ÿ˜‚

If you love Nevernight then you’ll love Godsgrave as it’s far better.๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜€ Though if you’ve seen them as being labelled as Y-A they aren’t (I have a tweet from Kristoff actually telling me that they aren’t) far more blood and gore than some adult fantasy/grimdark books and Kristoff does like his elaborate s#x scenes, yuck.๐Ÿ˜‚

    1. Haha, right? This book needs to be classified as a dangerous weapon. And my poor arms lugging it around! Haha!

I am so much more excited that it’s Adult! You’ve made me even more excited, Drew. Honestly, your review and love for Godsgrave is what really pushed both books over onto my TBR. (And you know I am a sucker for sex scenes, COME ON!, now you’re just teasing!) I am so excited! โค

      Happy October 1st, love! ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŽƒ

  2. I loved A Discovery of Witches – the whole series. I read Nevernight, but it just wasn’t for me, and didn’t continue with the second book. Just finished 27 Hours. You have some good choices for October!

    1. This comment makes me so happy, Teri! I have friends telling me how much I’m going to love it and hate it, so I’m nervous to see where I fall. But I truly feel like I will like it.

And a few of my friends had big problems with Nevernight, too, so maybe this is just a polarizing book month for me! Hehe. โค

      And I'm 13% into 27 Hours… and I'm in love!

Happy October 1st, love! I hope you have an amazing month! ๐Ÿ‘ป๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŽƒ

    1. Thank youuuuuu! I’m very excited. And I have high hopes, and I think I’ll love it, or Em is going to end me.

And I can’t wait to see what we both think of Without Merit! I’m such coho trash, I will probably love it. Hahaha.

      Happy reading, love! ๐Ÿ’›โœจ

  4. As so many others have said Nevernight and Godsgrave are fantastic and I think will make a good choice for an October read! ๐Ÿ˜€

I will help fend off any wild horses that attempt to keep you from Words of Radiance though so you can focus on the book instead of said rampant equines (is that a word?). Because Oathbringer comes out next month!!!

    1. Hahahahaha. I love this comment! I promise you, I will finish it and be all ready to read Oathbringer upon release! I don’t even know where to begin with my Way of Kings review, because I loved it SO much! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ˜˜

Happy October, love! And thank your for these words that make me even more excited for everything this month! ๐Ÿ‚๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘ป
