Bookish Thanksgiving Tag

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American followers! You guys will never know how thankful I am for each and every one of you! I hope you all have an amazing day with your family, and good food, and even better books! πŸ‚πŸ¦ƒπŸ’›

I wanted to just do a little tag blog post to celebrate! And I know I’m going to be busy today with my family, so I thought this would be a fun thing to update! This tag was created by Fangirlscity over on BookTube!

➽ 1. Bread – What book is purely fluff, and has no real plot line?
Paper Princess (The Royals #1) by Erin Watt, and the rest of the series. Like, they are so addicting, but you’ll finish and be like β€œwhat did I just read?” after you close every single book.

➽ 2. Turkey – What book made you want to fall asleep?
The Glittering Court (The Glittering Court #1) by Richelle Mead, and honestly anything else recent by Richelle Mead. I’m still in shock how low her quality has dipped, because she used to be such an auto-buy author for me.

➽ 3. Gravy – What book makes the whole series worth reading?
Shadow and Bone (Grisha Verse #1) by Leigh Bardugo. I honestly only thought Siege and Storm was just okay, and I blatantly disliked Ruin and Rising, but Shadow and Bone was honest perfection.

➽ 4. Stuffing – What book is stuffed full of action scenes?
Traitor’s Blade (Greatcoats #1) by Sebastien de Castell! Seriously, it’s a nonstop, action-filled, hilarious ride that I never want to get off. I can’t recommend this entire series enough.

➽ 5. Mashed Potatoes – What book looked good, and then wasn’t?
A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy #1) by Deborah Harkness. Such a beautiful atmosphere, such an enthralling synopsis, so much potential, and just… nothing.

➽ 6. Cranberries – What book has the sweetest romance?
Lazlo and Sarai from Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, hands down. So beautiful, so pure, must protect them at all costs. I’m not crying right now, you are crying right now.

➽ 7. Corn – What’s the corniest book you’ve ever read?
Okay, hear me out, I think Geekerella by Ashley Poston is corny, but in the best way possible! It’s geeky, and predictable, but oh so sweet! Such a fun read.

➽ 8. Green beans – What book is too long and needs to be shortened?
You all are going to kill me, but every single Sarah J. Maas novel. If I end up giving one of her books one star or five stars, it doesn’t matter, I always think those books are so long winded and could so easily be condensed!

➽ 9. Pumpkin Pie – What book do you read to get out of a reading slump?
Harry Potter, any and all, always.

➽ 10. Dog/Cat – What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food that you would steal from the table?
First off, this is a random transition question, but okay… stuffing, also always stuffing.

And that’s the tag! I hope you guys enjoyed, and I hope you guys are having a fantastic Thanksgiving! Happy reading, lovelies! πŸ‚πŸ’› πŸ¦ƒ

  2. Ahh nice to see you feel the same way about Richelle’s Glittering Court. I LOVED her Vampire Academy series, it’s one of my favorites. But glittering court just wasn’t for me I think. Haven’t finished it, oops.

I haven’t finished the Grisha trilogy yet. I LOVED Shadow & Bone and I’m looking forward with continuing this series, but now I’m a bit scared after reading your opinion on book 2 and 3, lol.

Traitor’s Blade by Sebastien de Castell sounds awesome! I’ve recently read the Dutch translation of Spellslinger, which was AWESOME! Definitely want to read more of this author!

And omg you make me even More excited about Strange the Dreamer. Laini is such a unique talented author and one of my all-time favorites. Daughter of Smoke and bone trilogy is ffffing amaaaazing. I’ve been aching to read Strange the dreamer ever since she announced this book was coming our way. Still, it sits unread on my shelf at the moment, yikes. A bit scared to start and I have to be in the right kind of mood, especially with a Laini book regarding her complex writing ❀ But ooomygod, I'm so excited! And I'm so excited to read about the romance you talk about!

And okay, maaaaybe I want to kill you a bit for saying that about Sarah's books, lol.. But I know not everyone loves the same things I love about a book, meaning Sarah's books as well haha. So far, thankfully, I haven't experienced feeling her books are too long but I get where you're coming from!

Harry potterrrrrr. ALWAYS ❀ For me it's The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare that's always able to get me out of a reading slump! Or contemporary romance/new adult.

Loved this article ❀ Hope you had an amazing thanksgiving!

    1. Oh my gosh, I love this comment so much! Hahahaha. And I love Sarah, so don’t kill me too much! Hahahaha. And oh my gosh, you are going to freaking LOVE Strange the Dreamer. I can’t wait for you to get to it. And don’t be scared about the Grisha trilogy, I think I’m in the minority with my feelings!

I hope you had an amazing day! And I hope you had some amazing reading time! πŸ’›πŸ¦ƒπŸ‚

I have Strange the Dreamer to read on my shelves, my hesitation is really more towards having to wait for the sequel *sobs* but I’m so READY for the romance cuz LAINI ROCKS! lol.

P.S. I’m so gonna read the hell outta the Paper Princess series cuz sometimes you need a little mindless fun πŸ™‚

    1. Girl, I know my ratings of The Royal Series seems harsh, but they were THE BEST mindless fun. I legit recommend.

And I can’t wait to gush with you about Strange the Dreamer!!

And thank you so much love. I hope you and your loved ones are having an amazing weekend, too! πŸ’›βœ¨
