The NetGalley Book Tag

RULES
¬ Link back to the tag’s creator: Kourtni at Kourtni Reads
¬ Thank and link back to the person who tagged you: Avery @ Red Rocket Panda
¬ Answer the questions the best you can. If you don’t use NetGalley, you can substitute other sites or places where you get books!
¬ Tag a few people to do this too!

AUTO-APPROVED: WHO’S ONE AUTHOR WHOSE BOOKS YOU AUTOMATICALLY WANT TO READ, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT?

Lord, help me. I can’t pick between Holly Black and Laini Taylor, and nothing on this planet will make it, even though I want Muse of Nightmares more than any other physical thing right now in my life.

REQUEST: WHAT MAKES YOU WANT TO REQUEST A BOOK ON NETGALLEY?

So many things will make me want to request an ARC, but mostly if it a fantasy (bonus points if it has fae) and if it is written by someone with a marginalized voice. But I will totally request books because of the hype, because of a trusted friend, and because the author is very kind, too!

FEEDBACK RATIO: DO YOU REVIEW EVERY BOOK YOU READ? IF NOT, HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT BOOKS TO REVIEW?
I review every book I read, with the exception of DNFs that I won’t post on the blog, but I will still post mini reviews on Goodreads and on Netgalley. Also, because of a Top Ten Tuesday topic earlier this month, I now know that I’ve only DNFed seven books in the last couple years!

BADGES: IF YOU COULD CREATE ONE BADGE TO DISPLAY ON YOUR BLOG, WHAT WOULD IT BE FOR?

Probably some sort of badge that would let people know that I am making an effort to read diversely. Or that diverse authors and books are something that I always want to boost and support. Maybe a badge for 25+ ownvoices reviews, 25+ LGBTQIAP+ reads, 25+ reads not set in The United States! I don’t know, something like that though.

WISH FOR IT: WHAT’S ONE BOOK THAT YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY DYING TO READ?

Oh, cruel world. I’m going to have to bring it up again? Without a doubt in my mind, without a question, Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor. If you have a copy and you’d like to make a grown ass woman’s dreams come true – DM me on any platform to receive my never ending and never waning love. Thank you.

2018 NETGALLEY CHALLENGE: WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK THAT YOU RECEIVED AS AN ARC THAT YOU REVIEWED? IF YOU’VE NEVER RECEIVED AN ARC, WHAT’S THE LAST BOOK YOU REVIEWED?

The last book that I received from Netgalley and reviewed is Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik, but the blog post hasn’t been scheduled yet! Soon, my loves, soon!

  1. I’m so impressed how kind you are re your reviews and get those books chances. ❤️❤️ I’m quite impatient and DNF quite a lot of books but I want to work on that! There were many times when a book ended up being an enjoyable read despite its meh start. 😊

Great tag, I’m still figuring NetGalley out and really enjoyed it, thanks. 🌟 😊

    1. Awh, you’re the too kind one, Vera! I am trying to be better about DNFing things that I don’t think are for me, so it’s funny we have different DNFing goals! Netgalley can be really annoying, but it is so rewarding! If you have any questions, ask away! I’m wishing you happy reading always! 💗xx

  2. Oh I like this tag a lot. I’m going to have to do it sometime. I love using Netgalley. I have been taking a bit of a break from requesting because I have so many arcs I need to read and review. I also really need to read Holly Black and Laini Taylor. I own Strange the Dreamer, I just haven’t picked it up yet. I’m so glad I found out about this tag from you! 😀 xoxo
