JulyTBRHello, my friends! How is it already July, I have no idea! But I started to feel a little slumpy in the month of June, so I really want to focus this month on reading things that I truly want to read that I know will make me happy! 💗📚

Yet, I do have some August ARCs that I know I will and need to get to in July:

➽ The Black God’s Drums by P. Djèlí Clark
August 21st 2018 by Tor.com
I totally didn’t mention this to Lilly or Alexis, but… do you both fancy a buddy read? Also, I’m 99.9% sure I’m going to fall so deeply in love with this one.

➽ Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart
July 31st 2018 by Little, Brown
Yikes! Does it really say July 31st above this sentence? Okay, this one is for sure top priority! I have heard really good things about this one, so I’m excited to dive in!

➽ Foundryside (Founders #1) by Robert Jackson Bennett
August 21st 2018 by Crown
I’m reading this one with my dear friend Michael, and I have the highest of hopes that we are going to love this! This will be my first book by this author, but he is beloved by so many of my SFF friends!

➽ Ruin of Stars (Mask of Shadows #2) by Linsey Miller
August 7th 2018 by Sourcebooks Fire
I didn’t love book one in this series, but I was completely invested! I’m very hopefully that I’m going to really enjoy this second book, that stars a gender fluid main character!

➽ Bloody Rose (The Band #2) by Nicholas Eames
August 28th 2018 by Orbit
I received this ARC on the last day of June, but I couldn’t resist immediately adding it to my TBR! Not only did I love book one with my whole heart, this is the very first book that I’ve ever been in the acknowledgements for! Seriously, friends, I can’t wait to devour this one! And my heart is so very happy! 💖

But here are just some pure enjoyment reads that I really want to get to this month:

➽ Batman: Nightwalker (DC Icons #2) by Marie Lu
I am going to buddy read this with my friend Alexis at The Sloth Reader, mostly because she loves Marie Lu, Batman, and me. Wow, such good picks.

➽ City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments #2) by Cassandra Clare
If I realistically want to read Queen of Air and Darkness upon release, I need to get started on reading all these damn books. I hope to at least knock out this trilogy thingy before July is over!

➽ City of Ghosts (Cassidy Blake #1) by Victoria Schwab
August 28th 2018 by Scholastic
I’m looking and May and Ju right now. Once my two favorites pick a date, I can’t wait to read this with them! 💕

➽ Strange Grace by Tessa Gratton
September 18th 2018 by Margaret McElderry Books
I’ll be honest, I feel a little uncomfortable reviewing Tessa Gratton’s work after the sexual assault allegations came forward earlier this year. But I do love her writing with my whole heart, and I did request this ARC, so I’m going to go in and hopefully enjoy it. Also, this is my first buddy read with Candace and I’m so damn excited!

Also in the month of July, from the 9th to the 15th, Lainey and Riley are hosting #SMUTATHON! Which is an amazing readalong where we are all going to read a lot of romance! There are seven prompts, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to fulfill all of them, but these are the four romances I really want to get to:

➽ The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory
Category: fake dating!

➽ A Daring Arrangement (The Four Hundred #1) by Joanna Shupe

➽ The King of Bourbon Street (NOLA Nights #1) by Thea de Salle
Category: I have no idea, but I’ll make it work after I read it, because this is the July pick for the Book Hangover Book Club that Julie and Chelsea host! ❤

Okay, and I think that is everything! Holy moly, I hope that’s everything! I can’t believe we are already into summer 2018! This year has just been going to fast! But I have a few cool things happening this month: A new segment that I’m kind of nervous to start, and the first post goes up this weekend! I also have a very special post on the 27th that I hope you’ll all be participating in! But I hope this month is filled with love, health, happiness, and good books for you all! How is it already July?!?! *gasp* *clutches pearls* 😂 I’m very happy to buddy Read Blck god’s Drums, I neeeeeed all the Orisha reads I can get in my life! 💜 & of course Grace & Fury 💜I have high hopes for both so we shall see 🤞🏼Legit Smutathon sounds so good right about now! I was stoked to see King of Bourbon Street win the vote for the Book Hangover Book Club cause I’ve been wanting to read it for so long! Set in New Orleans, one of my fave cities 😍 eeeeK!     1. From everything I can find she only made “rape jokes” in front of teens? Which is still gross, but at least she didn’t actually sexually assault anyone, you know? BUT STILL! And I hope we both enjoy it. I’ve only read two short stories by her, but I’ve 5 stared both of them! Happy July, love! And happy reading! ❤ xx

  10. I can’t read full on romance I wish I did but I’m all about the dragons and the magic and all the good stuff but I hope you do have fun and enjoy reading all of them. I definitely want Bloody Rose like you I’m a big fan of Kings of the Wyld oh and City of Ghost I need that too. when I saw City of Ashes I had to look at the cover pic again LOL I read those books years ago and I want to re-read them but there’s so many books I just don’t have the time for that LOL…..Happy Reading love xoxo

  14. There’s a batman story now? I only read Wonder Woman but I thought there was also a catwoman story.

    Most of these books look very promising, and I look forward to reading your reviews. Let’s hope July doesn’t go by so fast, and that we all have plenty of time to read!

      1. I should def be able to read this with you by the 20th! I’ll check to make sure my library/Overdrive has it but they totally should. My library has an awesome YA section.

  17. I still need to read the shadowhunter books. I might try knock them out soonish, because everyone raves about the other series of books set in that world and I wanna read 🙂 good luck with this pile 💕 and if you ever need a buddy read I’m always around ❤️
