Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost in a Story! The point of it is to help cull your reading lists down, or maybe push higher anticipated releases up on your TBR! And maybe you all can help me along the way, and tell me if you’ve loved or hated any of these!
How it works:
➽ Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
➽ Order on ascending date added.
➽ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
➽ Read the synopses of the books
➽ Decide: keep it or should it go?
Friends, this is the most random combination of six books ever. I swear, I just start giggling looking at the picture because there is a little something here (or not here, I guess) for everyone! Please, I need your help this week with these random books!
The Six Books:

➽ The Other Man by R.K. Lilley
You all, I know this cover is highly sus as fuck, but it is what it is. I really loved Bad Things, and everything else set in that world, by this author, so I’m guessing that is why this is on my TBR. But I’ll be honest, I don’t even know what this is about. Don’t judge me.
Verdict: Delete ❌
➽ On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King
Oh my gosh! Okay so, every author that I love always recommends this book to aspiring authors. I’ve never had the urge to write a book in my life, but because people like Tarryn Fisher thank this book all the time, I’ve always been intrigued to pick it up!
Verdict: Delete ❌
➽ Lumberjanes, Vol. 1: Beware the Kitten Holy
I’m like 99% sure I read this, but I didn’t love this. Maybe that’s why it is still on my TBR? Maybe I didn’t finish it? I do own this graphic novel. Maybe because everyone loves it so much I just didn’t want to rain on their parade? I honestly don’t know why this is on my TBR! Why am I like this?
Verdict: Delete ❌
➽ Winter (The Lunar Chronicles #4) by Marissa Meyer
If you all have followed my blog and reviews for some time, then you might know that I’m the only human in this Earth that doesn’t love this series. I actually one starred Cinder. But I kept trying, because it is so beloved, but I’m not sure if I can tackle this behemoth too. But then again, I have made it this far, I should just buy the audiobook and force myself.
Verdict: Keep (begrudgingly) ✅
➽ Dark Citadel (Masters of the Shadowlands #2) by Cherise Sinclair
Holy shit, two sus covers in one Down the TBR Hole post? It looks like I four starred book one back in 2014, so I guess my pervy ass just wanted to read more.
Verdict: Delete ❌
➽ Wildwood Dancing (Wildwood #1) by Juliet Marillier
I have read a few books by Juliet Marillier and I’m always so impressed with her worlds, her characters, and her writing. I wish I had more free time to read for pure enjoyment, because I’d honestly pick up Juliet Marillier’s entire backlist.
Verdict: Keep ✅
Okay, friends, these are the next oldest six books I have on my TBR! Let me know if you love, hate, and/or recommend me to read or trash any of these books! Thank you all so much, and I hope whatever you’re currently reading is five star worthy! 💛✨

Bummer about not liking Winter or Lumberjanes. Good luck finishing Winter! At least you’ll be able to say you read the whole thing.
I remember reading Wildwood Dancing when I was a teen and liking it, but I don’t remember anything about it haha.
Did you mean to say you’ll keep On Writing? You sound like you want to read it, but you have delete picked.

I am debating more and more to just get the Winter audiobook and force myself to do it whenever I’m free,h honestly! And… gosh, I just love Juliet Marillier… I can’t bring myself to delete! And… I am so torn on On Writing. The older I get the more I think about writing something! Ahhh, I don’t know, Sionna! You see what a hot mess I am? Hahaha! But thank you for your feedback! I’m sorry I’m all over the place! Happy reading, love! 💖xx

We are allowed to be all over the place, that’s what book do to us ^_^
I think the audiobook is a good idea, then you can just pay attention to some of it. That or get it and skim it a bit. Read enough to know what goes on.
Hope your reading goes well 🙂

you’re not the only one who wasn’t a hugest fan of Cinder! idk, I just thought it was super predictable and a little too slow for my tastes. I actually almost DNFed it oops 🙈I think I enjoyed Scarlet a little more but idk if I should continue on with the rest of the series!

Omg, Hannah, my heart is so happy. I swear, I truly do feel all alone on this Cinder disliking island… so… WELCOME! Hahaha! And I felt the same way. I enjoyed Scarlet, and then went on to hate Cress! Hahaha! But I hope you’re currently having the happiest of reading, love! 💖xx

Cinder wasn’t my favorite neither! It was OK but defiantly didn’t like up to the hype with me. I plan on reading the rest of the series but I’m in no rush.

This is exactly how I feel, Crystal! But I’m wishing us both the happiest of reading if we continue on! Hehe! 💖xx

I used The Challenge Factory “Finish what you started” (FWYS) and caught up in that series The Shadowlands by Cherise Sinclair. I really enjoyed them. Of course you have to be in the mood for that kind of read

This is amazing feedback because 1.) I love this method and 2.) you’re the only one I know that’s read Cherise Sinclair! I am honestly keeping it on my list now because of YOU and this comment! Thank youuuu! 💕xx

I am going to go and clean up my TBR. Especially since I’m 99% audiobooks now. So books that haven’t been recorded yet just have to be removed.

Haha don’t worry, you’re not the only one who doesn’t like The Lunar Chronicles! I started reading Cinder a while back, but never ended up finishing it, whoops. It just didn’t really interest me. 😅 Great post as always! 💗

Removing 4 out of 6 is great! I seriously need to get my TBR under control haha, but I just lack care anymore. I know it is unrealistic, but give me all the books haha ❤ I hope Winter can turn the series around. I am onto Cress next and admit to really enjoying Cinder and Scarlet. I cannot speak for the rest of these. Hope you had a fab weekend! *hugs*

Awh, thank you, love! And yeah… this is actually therapeutic at this point? Hahaha! I haven’t taken any off m TBR though! I’m waiting until August 1st… BUT STILL! It feels amazing! And… I have high hopes for Winter too. This is the thing, I didn’t love Cinder or Crest, but I loved Scarlet and the novella… so I’m due to love Winter, right? Right! Hahaha! Thank you for all these words, my love! And I hope you’re having an amazing Sunday! 💕xx

4 out of 6 is amazing, go you!
You’re not the only one to not like Cinder, I feel like Fiction No Chaser was complaining about it on Twitter last week. As much as I am intrigued by the series, I think I am going to avoid because it’s been overly hyped and I think I will just be disappointed.

As a writer and a King fan, On Writing has been an invaluable resource to me. But I can definitely see why you’d delete it if you don’t have an interest in writing.

I am so weak, Teri! Now I extra want to keep it! Ahhhh! This seriously is such a validation to keep it though! Thank you, love! 💖xx

I enjoyed reading the Stephen King book and I harbor no hope of ever being a writer. I was mainly just curious about his process since he is so successful.
I did the audiobook for Winter and it was enjoyable! I hope you make yourself do it, because I think you will like it!
