A-Z BOOKISH SURVEY

I was tagged by the amazing Michaela @ Journey into Books to do this amazing tag, which I believe was originally created by Jamie @ Perpetual Page Turner! ❤

Author you’ve read the most books from:
This post shows my shame of it being James Patterson!

Best Sequel Ever:
The Wicked King by Holly Black!

Currently Reading:
The Sisters of the Winter Wood by Rena Rossner!

Drink of Choice While Reading:
Water, coffee, or tea!

E-reader or Physical Book?
Honestly? Either. I guess I’d prefer physical a little more because they are easier on my eyes, but I always read ebooks ten times faster.

Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated in High School:
Adrian Ivashkov from Vampire Academy.

Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker! (Probably my favorite romance of 2018!)

Hidden Gem Book:
Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher!

Important Moment in your Reading Life:
I suppose I have to go with the time I read Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #1) by Maggie Stiefvater, because it was the very first book I ever reviewed back in 2009 on Goodreads!

Just Finished:
The Antidote by Shelley Sackier with Candace! 💕

Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
I mean, obviously I don’t want to read anything racist or homophobic, but if we are talking just about genre? I mean, I’ll honestly try most anything. But I really don’t like western feeling things/anything with *cowboy* love interests! (Did I really just type that?) 🤠

Longest Book You’ve Read:
Goodreads says it is Oathbringer (The Stormlight Archive #3) by Brandon Sanderson, coming in at 1243 pages!

Major book hangover because of:
Muse of Nightmares (Strange the Dreamer #2) by Laini Taylor

Number of Bookcases You Own:
Five. But I need…. so many more. Lord, help me.

One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
The Harry Potter series, always and forever. ❤

Preferred Place to Read:
I’m not sure if this is my preferred place, but I feel like I read 80% of the time in my bed.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
I’m such a quote reader! But my favorite quote of 2018 has been from The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan:

“If he looked in my eyes straight on, he would know how he’d pierced me with an arrow, how its shaft was still sticking out of my chest, twitching each time my heart contracted. And maybe he’d see how my mother had sliced up everything else.”

Reading Regret:
A Promise of Fire (Kingmaker Chronicles #1) by Amanda Bouchet, forever and always.

Series You Started and Need to Finish (all books are out in series):
Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan! *dodges tomatoes*

Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
The Fifth Season (The Broken Earth #1) by N.K. Jemisin
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Every Heart a Doorway (Wayward Children #1) by Seanan McGuire

Unapologetic Fangirl For:
The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle #1) by Patrick Rothfuss! (I’ll honestly wait forever for book three, with a smile on my face!)

Very Excited for This Release More Than All the Others:
The Winter of the Witch (Winternight Trilogy #3) by Katherine Arden!

Worst Bookish Habit:
Not rereading enough. I have so many books, that have completely changed my life, that I’ve only read once. I wish I would make more time to reread favorites. Maybe in 2019?

X Marks the Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry! Which, holy moly, I really need to read!

Your latest book purchase:
I actually did a virtual book signing for Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand from Good Choice Reading the other night! 💕

ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
The Chase (Briar U #1) by Elle Kennedy, without question!

Okay, my loves! That’s the tag and (hopefully) all 26 questions/letters! If you would like to do this – consider yourself tagged! And I hope you’re all having the happiest of reading, friends! 💖

    1. Thank you so much, love! And as for The Antidote… I really ended up not loving it! It wasn’t bad, or offensive, it was just a little too over the top for me. Legit read like a magical soap opera! Hahaha! 💖xx

  2. This was such a fun post. First off, Tazo’s zen green tea is excellent (I have a *thing* for green teas with lemongrass). Second, I’m so glad to see that you count The Fifth Season as an all-time favorite. That book just struck me right in the heart. By far one of my favorite books read this year. ❤

Great post, I enjoyed reading your answers 🙂 I’m considering buying a Kindle sometime soon or during Christmas time and I’m excited to finally be able to not have to be so careful with physical books especially when I take them outside haha! Also a book of over 1000 pages, woww that’s a long book. I love to read indoors too 🙂

  5. Ohh, ‘Winter of the Witch’.. me too, me too 🙂 One of my most anticipated reads, this will be so good, I know it!

Your reading spot looks super comfy, I’d like to join 😀

And talking about Cowboys.. I can’t read about them any more because it reminds me of the time I picked this horrible cowboy threesome porn novel, that had the worst flowery prose ever. Ugh. No. Never again haha. I have a trauma!
