Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost in a Story! The point of it is to help cull your reading lists down, or maybe push higher anticipated releases up on your TBR! And maybe you all can help me along the way, and tell me if you’ve loved or hated any of these!
How it works:
➽ Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
➽ Order on ascending date added.
➽ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
➽ Read the synopses of the books
➽ Decide: keep it or should it go?
Friends, this is another random combination! But, hello, my name is Melanie and I like fantasy and romance and the combination of the two! And I actually think that I would probably enjoy most of these!
The Six Books:

➽ Mage’s Blood (Moontide Quartet #1) by David Hair
I truly think that I’d enjoy this, but so many books and so little time. I am just not sure if I want to keep this on my TBR when I know I would pick a lot of other high fantasy series over it.
Verdict: Delete ❌
➽ Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows #1) by Kim Harrison
This is Julie’s fault, in the best way possible. I always correlate this series with her, and I need to read it!
Verdict: Keep ✅
➽ The Seafarer’s Kiss (The Seafarer’s Kiss #1) by Julia Ember
I was really hyped for this, before it came out, but then I started to see reviews talking about unchallenged abuse. And you all know I’m not here for that, especially in a f/f relationship.
Verdict: Delete ❌
➽ Royal Assassin (Farseer Trilogy #2) by Robin Hobb
I can’t believe I haven’t read on since I read book one early 2017! I am such a slacker! But I love Fitz and I know I will really enjoy this! I just need to force myself to prioritize this amazing series into my TBRs better!
Verdict: Keep ✅
➽ The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
I heard this is heartbreakingly beautiful, and life is funny because I’m actually currently reading this!
Verdict: Keep ✅
➽ Rogues edited by George R.R. Martin & Gardner Dozois
I have probably read around half of the stories in this anthology, and really enjoyed them! Especially Pat Rothfuss’ masterpiece about my favorite character! But I just need to force myself to sit down and finish this collection! But I’m super excited to do so!
Verdict: Keep ✅
Okay, friends, these are the next oldest six books I have on my TBR! Let me know if you love, hate, and/or recommend me to read or trash any of these books! Thank you all so much, and I hope whatever you’re currently reading is five star worthy! 💛🎃👻

I’m definitely interested in the Rogues anthology; that sounds amazing!
I’ve never read Robin Hobb, but he is on my TBR as well.
I gave Nightingale 5/5. ❤️

I had not heard that about The Seafarer’s Kiss! It’s on my TBR, but it looks like I need to do some more research about it now. Thanks for putting that out there!

i can’t say many good things about the seafarer’s kiss personally, especially because the unchallenged abuse is Bad. thanks for the reminder that i’ve been meaning to read a robin hobb for an age though. def need to get on that!

Yikes, yeah… the unchallenged abuse is honestly why I didn’t pick it up upon release! Thank YOU for this comment, love. It means the world to me! (And I hope you love Robin Hobb; she’s so damn amazing!) 💛xx

I hope you end up enjoying it. I have no idea why I loved it so much, but it was fun, dark at times, and made me laugh. I got attached to quite a few characters (one died and I’m still salty over it).
