Villains, the characters we love to hate, or hate to love… let’s be real! I feel like I normally always end up liking the villain a little bit more than I should. I’m going to be vague about a couple of these, because I don’t want to ruin any storylines for you, but here is a list of my top ten favorite villains of all time! 👻

➽ Shadow and Bone (The Grisha Trilogy #1) by Leigh Bardugo

Like I could make a list of favorite villains and not take it as an opportunity to talk about how much of Darkling trash I am?
➽ The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air #1) by Holly Black

This twist still takes my breath away.
➽ Strange Grace by Tessa Gratton

What kind of list would this be without an actual Devil?
➽ Senlin Ascends (The Books of Babel #1) by Josiah Bancroft

The most badass villain of all-time? An actual tower!
➽ The Fifth Season (The Broken Earth #1) by N.K. Jemisin

Oh wait! The most badass villain to ever exist is actually the Earth!
➽ Traitor’s Blade (Greatcoats #1) by Sebastien de Castell

Duke Jillard of Rijou will forever have my heart.
➽ Mistborn (Mistborn #1) by Brandon Sanderson

I actually loved the Lord Ruler as a villain, but I really want to pick Odium!
➽ A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire #1) by George R.R. Martin

Cersei Lannister will forever be my favorite villain of all-time.
➽ Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

I couldn’t compile a list of villains and not mention Voldemort. Let’s be real.

  8. Good list! I started The Traitor Baru Cormorant and got distracted by something else, I should really get back to it. And I’ve been looking forward to reading Mistborn, really need to get around to that!
