Down the TBR Hole #17

Down the TBR Hole was originally created by Lost in a Story! The point of it is to help cull your reading lists down, or maybe push higher anticipated releases up on your TBR! And maybe you all can help me along the way, and tell me if you’ve loved or hated any of these!

How it works:
➽ Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
➽ Order on ascending date added.
➽ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
➽ Read the synopses of the books
➽ Decide: keep it or should it go?

The Six Books:

Night of Cake & Puppets (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #2.5) by Laini Taylor
I know I will love this, and I can’t believe I haven’t read this yet!
Verdict: Keep ✅

Wicked Like a Wildfire (Hibiscus Daughter #1) by Lana Popović
Honestly, I got this in a Fairy Loot and it is the only reason why it is on my TBR! I feel bad getting rid of it because it is signed, but I’m never going to pick this up.
Verdict: Delete ❌

Age of War (The Legends of the First Empire #3) by Michael J. Sullivan
I loved the first book in this series, and really enjoyed the second. I can’t believe I haven’t gotten around to this third book yet!
Verdict: Keep ✅

Trickery (Curse of the Gods #1) by Jaymin Eve
This is going to be short and sexy and I’m hyped for this. Like, maybe I’ll pick it up now that I have been reminded of it!
Verdict: Keep ✅

Roar (Stormheart #1) by Cora Carmack
I know so many people who love this, so I bought it on Book Outlet, but I’m not sure if I will ever get to it. Have you all read this one? I mean, I am always looking for Fantasy Romance, so maybe I shouldn’t delete it?
Verdict: Delete ❌

The Weight of Feathers by Anna-Marie McLemore
I love everything Anna-Marie McLemore touches, and I know this will be no different.
Verdict: Keep ✅

Okay, friends, these are the next oldest six books I have on my TBR! Let me know if you love, hate, and/or recommend me to read or trash any of these books! Thank you all so much, and I hope whatever you’re currently reading is five star worthy! 🍂🍁

  1. I just looked up Wicked like a Wildflower. The synopsis sounds interesting and I really enjoy the cover. I don’t think it sounds well enough to buy myself a copy of it, but i might borrow it from the library some day! Sorry you’re not interested in it!

I also looked up the first book in The Legends of the First Empire, too. I love books about God’s for some unknown reason, especially when it’s intertwined with humans. I’ve never heard of these series before so I added it to me tbr 😀

    1. Awh, this makes my heart so damn happy that you actually found two books that interest you off it! I honestly might keep Wicked like a Wildfire on my TBR….I truly am so in love with the cover alone! But we will see! 💖xx

  2. OK FIRST OF HOW HAVE YOU NOT READ NIGHT OF CAKE AND PUPPETS YET OMG!!!! That is one of the best novellas I have ever reaaaaddd!!!
I had an ARC of Roar and DNFed it after a third because I couldn’t get into it at all and it had some tropey New Adult stuff! I vaguely remember that the romantic aspect was kinda problematic. So I’d say deleting it is the right decision 💁‍♀️

    1. RIGHT? I am such a fake fan! Hahahahaha!

And this is that good feedback that I needed for Roar, honestly!

And I love you and I can’t wait to go home and actually be able to snapchat you again! Haha! Happy reading! 💖xx

  3. That is one thing I love about these types of posts, is that it reminds me of some of the great stuff on my TBR. I’ve started series that I’ve ended up loving all because I’ve started at the bottom looking through things… granted, there have been many I wasn’t fond of either, but it happens 🙂
I hope you like NIght of Cake and Puppets– it is adorable.
I might read Age of War– I liked the first two, although I’ve learned I’m not a huge fan of those more denser books or high fantasy. This series is so interesting though it might be worth taking a long weekend and binging it.

    1. Right? Like.. I feel like I’m running out of *old* TBR for these posts, so I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be able to do them… but I’m going to try to stretch it throughout the end of the year, because they make me so damn happy seeing some of these books!

And thank you for all this feedback, seriously, I can’t believe I haven’t read Night of Cake and Puppets yet! Soon! Hahaha!

And I hope you’re having happy reading, love! 💖xx
