I feel like amazing standalones are hard to find! Especially since I’m a predominantly SFF blogger, living in a world that loves series! I (finally!) read Evelyn Hugo last month and I’m still not over how incredible it was. Definitely worth all the hype it gets💚 And aw Radio Silence! I’m rereading that right now and it’s too good. Love these picks Mel!

These are some of my favourite standalones as well! I love everything that Madeline Miller writes. The Underground Railroad is fantastic. I am reading The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead right now and it is a tough read but wow, amazing!

The seven Husbands (is it me or is TJR really humming along as an author? She seems to have a ton of well received stuff coming out latelys) and Circe both sound great. And I loved Radio Silence!

Aw I’m so glad to see Heartless on this list – it doesn’t really get enough love! I really need to pick up a Taryn Fisher book – it’s on my list but I keep putting it off. Sounds like she is the kind of dark messed up author I love.

So glad to see The Darkest Part of the Forest on this list! I have been meaning to read it for a while, but I think since it’s not a series that it gets ignored even as a Holly Black title.
