Hey friends! I am finally home from Hawaii! And I am finally getting back into my normal routine! I promise, I will have lots of content for you in June! And I’ve missed you all so much! But today I am here to tell you about a really exciting readathon next month that my friend Amy created and asked me to cohost with her and some friends!

June 21 – June 27

THE HOSTS:
Amy @ A Court of Crowns and Quills

Jen @ Pinot and Pages

Heather @ Bookables

Aimee @ Aimee Reads

THE CHALLENGES:
1. A Beachy Read: this can be either a book set at the beach or just a book think would be perfect to read on the beach or poolside.

2. Sunrise colors on the cover: pink, orange, yellow, purple, blue…really, there are so many directions to go for this.

3. Book with a roadtrip, traveling, or vacation

4. Book set in the summer

5. Food on the cover (Or drink! Make it your own!)

6. Drink your favorite summertime drink while reading!

You can totally double up on challenges, or pick whichever ones look most appealing to you! This is a really laid back readathon, and we would just be honored if you joined us! Also, make sure you follow the instagram and twitter and use #summerathon so we can see and boost your photos, TBRs, and wrap ups!

Also, Please also remember that June is Pride Month, so we are really encouraging you all to make your TBRs as queer as possible! Also, there are some really amazing LGBTQIAP+ readalongs and readathons going on in the month of June, too! And you should check some of them out: Eloise, Kathy, & Boston! And there is also Smutathon happening, which I also plan to make my TBR hella queer! 🌈

I’m so excited for all the things happening in June, and hopefully you’ll join us for our readathon! Again, I’m sorry I haven’t been too active in May, but hopefully I’ll be here with consistent content from June on! I love you all, and I hope life is treating you so very kindly! Happy reading!

#ReadersCrossing

I never really do readathons, but this one was too amazing for me to possibly even think about passing up! It beautifully mixes the two loves of my life: reading and gaming! This readathon is being hosted by Aentee at Read at Midnight!

This readathon, which is basically more of a reading challenge, is called #ReadersCrossing and it takes place from December 10th to December 31st! Basically, this is very much like #TheReadingQuest, where you choose a path and then you use the bingo board to follow the line of the path you picked! And all of this is Animal Crossing Pocket Camp themed!

LEVELING UP
• All campers starts with 0 Experience Points (EXP), and each book completed for the challenge (in any format: physical, eBook, or audiobook will gain them 2 EXP.
• #OwnVoices novels will give you an addition EXP point, instead of gaining 2 EXP for their completion, you’ll gain 3 EXP.
• You will level up every time you get 10 EXP points. You begin at Level 1.
• Tweeting or Instagram posts on the #ReadersCrossing will earn you points (every 5 tweets/photo will earn you 1 EXP). You can gain a maximum of 5 EXP for your social media interactions. These should be tweets related to the challenge such as comments on your current read, book recommendations, or posts about the game itself).
• For fun, you can make your own camperID card, you can use screenshots of your character in your campsite, or during other moments of gameplay like the special fulfilled request segments/when you catch a particular bug or fish, it’s really up to you!

Also, make sure you check out the actual reading challenge’s blog post for more information, to sign up, and just in case I’m getting any of this information wrong. Also, don’t forget to check out #ReadersCrossing on different social medias!

And I personally chose the Natural path, because it’s what I always lean and gravitate to in the game! Plus, I love Goldie and I already have a bunch of things on my TBR that already fit into the path! So, it’s really a win/win for me!

SET IN YOUR COUNTRY:The Book of Etta (The Road to Nowhere #2) by Meg Elison
(Set in the scariest timeline for my country!)

YELLOW COVER:Oathbringer (The Stormlight Archive #3) by Brandon Sanderson
(the actual cover of the book is the prettiest yellow my eyes have ever seen!)

A CLASSIC:A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
(I set a reading goal in January to read ONE classic, and I still haven’t!)

ANIMAL ON THE COVER:The Red Threads of Fortune (Tensorate #2) by J.Y. Yang
(Dragons totally count, right? Right!)

SET IN WILDERNESS:The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert
(I hope this works, if not, I read so much fantasy I know I will read something that fits this!)

Like in every game that I play, I always feel the most enjoyment from completing all of the quests. I’m such a completionist and an achievement lover, so I know I will complete many of the side quests that are also offered in the middle of this bingo sheet!

This is honestly just too perfect and adorable to pass up! I hope many of you will join along with #ReadersCrossing! I love anything that has to do with accumulating points, and I couldn’t resist participating in a reading challenge that celebrates a love for gaming. This is such a unique and creative idea and I can’t wait to get reading! Happy reading, loves!

Yule Bingo!

I never really do readathons, but you guys know I could never resist a Harry Potter themed readalong, that some of my best friends are hosting!

Yule Bingo is being hosted by Destiny ❤️, Julie 💚, Melanie 💙, and Samm 💛! And if you’d like to participate, you should request to join their amazing Facebook group, Life & Lit, and then choose your house!

This readathon is going on for the entire month of December, so you have lots of time to fill your board! And there is going to be games and giveaways and they are going to be keeping tally of house points! Here is the bingo board:

Basically, each member I linked above is in charge of their house! And after you choose your house, you will try to complete your house’s bingo line! Only one book per square, and each square you fill is 1 point for your HP house! If you complete your house’s line (i.e. me as a Gryffindor filling all four Gryffindor squares), you get an extra 5 points for your house! But every square you fill nets your house a point! And if you’d like more details, just DM me, or ask in the FB group, because all four ladies are so very helpful!

I hope to complete both my house, Gryffindor, and Ravenclaw! But I’m going to make sure to complete even more if I’m able! But I’m going to put a huge emphasis on Gryffindor, especially since I pledged my allegiance to my Gryffindor captain, Destiny! Here are the books I’m planning on reading:

GRYFFINDOR:

• WEASLEYS – Family Goals: The Book of Etta (The Road to Nowhere, #2) by Meg Elison
• HARRY – Chosen One Trope: Everless (Untitled #1) by Sara Holland
• DUMBLEDORE – Wise Mentor: The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert
• MARAUDERS – Book with a Map: Godsgrave (The Nevernight Chronicle, #2) by Jay Kristoff

RAVENCLAW:

• LUNA – Loveable Sidekick: Oathbringer (The Stormlight Archive, #3) by Brandon Sanderson
• MOANING MYRTLE – Tearjerker: Three Sides of a Heart: Stories about Love Triangles edited by Natalie C. Parker
• OLIVANDER – Book with Spells: Sinless (Eye of the Beholder #1) by Sarah Tarkoff
• ROOM OF REQUIREMENT – Favorite Genre: Age of Assassins (The Wounded Kingdom #1) by R.J. Barker

I am beyond words excited to participate in this readalong! And everyone should also check out their Instagram for more content and for photo challenges throughout the month! I hope you all consider joining and you’ll have to let me know if you are a Gryffindor too! Also, if you’d like to buddy read any of these, please also let me know! I hope you guys are already having a wonderful holiday season! And happy reading! ❄⛄

#TheReadingQuest TBR

I never really do readathons, but this one was too amazing for me to possibly even think about passing up! It beautifully mixes the two loves of my life: reading and gaming! This readathon is being hosted by Aentee at Read at Midnight and all of the amazing artwork was created by CW at Read, Think, Ponder!

This readathon, which is basically more of a reading challenge, is called The Reading Quest and it takes place from August 13th to September 10th! Basically, you choose a class and then you use the bingo board to follow the path of the character class you picked!

You get exp based on the books you complete (with additional exp if you read books written by marginalized authors, which I adore). These points cause your character to level up! Everyone starts out with 10 exp, each additional book you complete from the quest board will award you 10 more points (marginalized authors give you 20 points, but graphic novels and manga only give 5 points). If you complete your character’s personal quest you will gain +50 exp, and then +30 exp for any additional character quest lines you pursue and complete after your original quest-line. And your character will level up every 50 exp.

There are also health points that you accumulate while reading! Your character starts out with ten hp, but you will accumulate way more from reading and different Twitter and Instagram challenges. I believe at the end they are just going to tally all the exp and hp points and then choose their winners based off that.

Also, make sure you check out the actual reading challenge’s blog post for more information, to sign up, and just in case I’m getting any of this information wrong. And you MUST sign up through their Masterpost if you are interested in actually winning the prizes. The deadline is Sunday August 13th, 2017. I’m just doing this for fun, but I will probably write up a wrap up and tell you guys how many points I did accumulate throughout this readathon. Also, don’t forget to check out #TheReadingQuest on different social medias!

I personally chose the path of the Mage, because in every single game I play I always end up picking the closest thing to a warlock/necromancer, so why would The Reading Quest be any different? Here is my TBR, while also trying to still participate in ARC August:

A BOOK WITH A ONE WORD TITLE:Bully (Fall Away #1) by Penelope Douglas (This isn’t a magical fantasy book, but it’s maybe a sexual fantasy with sexual powers book and maybe my mage character is a perverted character. Don’t judge me! Okay… I’m a hot mess, but I really want to read this book, and I’m not actually playing to win here, so leave me be!) 33 health points
A BOOK THAT CONTAINS MAGIC:The Stone Sky (The Broken Earth #3) by N.K. Jemisin 41 health points
A BOOK BASED ON MYTHOLOGY:Raven’s Mark: (The Raven Queen’s Harem Part One) by Angel Lawson (This was the hardest challenge of them all for me. This was probably a crazy pick, but it was only 99 cents on Amazon and it had hella good reviews, so I figured why not give it a try!?) 11 health points
A BOOK SET IN A DIFFERENT WORLD:The Dark of the Moon by E.S. Bell (Emma Scott) 54 health points
THE FIRST BOOK OF A SERIES:The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding (#1) by Alexandra Bracken 27 health points

Like in every game that I play, I always feel the most enjoyment from completing all of the quests. I’m such a completionist and an achievement lover, so I know I will complete many of the side quests that are also offered in the middle of this bingo sheet:

POTIONS:Paper Princess (The Royals #1) by Erin Watt (Elle Kennedy & Jen Frederick) 37 health points
MULTIPLAYER:Echo After Echo by Amy Rose Capetta (Buddy Reading with Elise ❤) 43 health points
GRIND:Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass #6) by Sarah J. Maas 67 health points
TIME WARP:Weaver’s Lament (Industrial Magic #2) by Emma Newman 16 health points
OPEN WORLD: – I’m keeping this open to whatever whenever.
RESPAWN:Body of The Crime (Blackest Gold #2) by R. Scarlett (I DNFed this entire series, but this author just keeps proving what a sweetheart she is, and it makes me want to give this series another chance!) 34 health points
EXPANSION:The Eleventh Metal (Mistborn 0.5) by Brandon Sanderson 1 health point, baby!
MINI-GAME:The Black Tides of Heaven (Tensorate #1) by J.Y. Yang 16 health points
ANIMAL COMPAION:Black Bird of the Gallows by Meg Kassel 30 health points

And if I am able to finish my mage path, I could possibly continue on with the knight’s path, but I don’t have too high of hopes with how far I will get, just because I am planning to complete so many of the side quests! But I still planned my TBR around a couple of the things down this path, just in case:

A BOOK WITH A VERB IN ITS TITLE: Warcross (Warcross #1) by Marie Lu (I am sneakily breaking this into TWO verbs) 41 health points
A BOOK WITH A WEAPON ON ITS COVER:Mask of Shadows (Untitled #1) by Linsey Miller 38 health points

I know many of my fantasy choices are loose, but that’s just because I’ve been craving romance all summer! But anyway, I hope many of you will join along with #TheReadingQuest! I love anything that has to do with accumulating points, and I couldn’t resist participating in a reading challenge that celebrates a love for gaming. This is such a unique and creative idea and I can’t wait to get reading! Happy reading, loves!
